This local crafting company is finding a fun way to combine crafting with charity. Crafts for a Cause is a project started by Hobby Prodigy – a D.I.Y. craft studio that offers a wide variety of projects and focuses on giving back to the community.
“Crafts for A Cause is all about giving back,” says Jennifer Miller, the brain behind the company. “It’s inspired by Winston Churchill’s quote, ‘We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.’ It is an absolute honor to partner with local charities that impact the lives of so many people in our community and worldwide.”
Since the business first opened last February, a portion of its proceeds has been donated to a different nonprofit each month. So far, the craft studio has helped numbers nonprofits, such as Beverly’s Birthdays, Crisis Center North, Global Sisterhood, Hayden’s Heart, The Still Remembered Project and CLASS through its charitable wing, Crafts for a Cause.
Hobby Prodigy states they goal is to “contribute to the community one craft at a time.”
Recently, they announced that they have collaborated with the Children’s Liver Association for Support Services for the month of December. C.L.A.S.S is to host an event with Hobby Prodigy’s – Crafts for A Cause program. This event will be held at Hobby Prodigy on Friday, December 1st from 5:00-9:00pm at The Mall at Robinson, 100 Robinson Center Drive, Pittsburgh PA, 15205.
The Children’s Liver Association for Support Services supports children and families that have been affected by pediatric liver disease and transplantation. They offer a toll-free hotline, educational materials, a parent match program, financial assistance, as well as providing snacks and quick meals for 3 units at Children’s Hospital of UPMC, character themed band aids, new clothing, and holiday/Sunday dinners.
“C.L.A.S.S cannot begin to express the gratitude we have for businesses like Hobby Prodigy that help make our dreams a reality. Without the love and support of businesses like Hobby Prodigy, we would not be able to support families living with pediatric liver disease in the ways we do.” – Stephan Circle, C.L.A.S.S Co-President
Hobby Prodigy’s goal is to give back to the community one craft at a time.
