Beauty of the Burgh Bike Tours
Dec 4 @ 10:00 am
Beauty of the Burgh Bike Tours @ Pittsburgh | Pennsylvania | United States

This tour is perfect if you are new to the city and you would like to see the most interesting spots of Pittsburgh. But if you know the Burgh already, we promise you that you will still find out unknown historical facts!

Our “Best of”: On this tour we will cruise through the streets of the financial and cultural district, explore the strip district and check out the North Shore. We will find some details that some of you all drove and walked by hundreds of time but probably never really noticed. We will dive into the history of Pittsburgh, tracking down the people who shaped this city to what it is today: a beauty. Old and new buildings, city squares and public art will turn this ride into a unique event full of exciting (re)discoveries of The Burgh.
A fun QUIZ will be part of this tour, too. The winner will be rewarded with a 30% discount at the next tour! Participants of this tour will also get a souvenir.

Be sure to visit the above link for more details on tour booking and types.

Writing Outside the Lines: Experimental Forms and Process in Creative Nonfiction @ Creative Nonfiction Foundation
Jan 11 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Writing Outside the Lines: Experimental Forms and Process in Creative Nonfiction @ Creative Nonfiction Foundation | Pittsburgh | Pennsylvania | United States

There are many ways to tell stories that are true.

In this lively five-workshop series, examples and writing prompts will help writers practice innovative ways of breaking through traditional essay structure and thinking about how form can complement content in creative nonfiction.

Activities and prompts include writing a short food memoir in the form of a recipe card, a flash nonfiction piece about a transformative moment that leaps in time, a six-word memoir, an encyclopedia entry, and a sensory map. Participants and peers will examine how the fine art of perhaps-ing, or the speculative, can broaden the reach of storytelling. Between sessions, writers will revise their work to share with the instructor and their peers at the next meeting, and for the final workshop, they will choose one piece to revise for possible publication. Writers will also learn more about magazines that publish experimental and traditional forms.

Visit the above website link for week-by-week descriptions.
