The Pittsburgh Improv Jam is a weekly comedy show hosted by City Paper “Best Local Comedy Troupe” 2017 honorees Well Known Strangers.
What is an Improv Jam? Experienced improvisers, eager beginners, and brave first-timers are placed on teams together to create improvised comedic scenes based on audience suggestions. You never know who’s going to come play at Pittsburgh Improv Jam; previous guest performers include TLC’s Paige Davis and the Second City Tour Company. Every Pittsburgh Improv Jam begins with a featured performance by Well Known Strangers or other local and touring comedy acts.
Don’t want to perform? Don’t sweat it! Audience tickets are only $3 cash the door or free with a downtown ticket stub from earlier that evening. The Backstage Bar serves drinks for improvisers and audience all night (Happy Hour til 11pm) and the show starts at 10pm.
Want to play? Welcome! Sign-ups begin at 9:30 in Backstage Bar, and the Jam is free for performers.
